Stanley Rockson, MD
Cofounder
Stanley G. Rockson, MD is the Allan and Tina Neill Professor of Lymphatic Research and Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine. He is Director of the Stanford Center for Lymphatic and Venous Disorders and Chief of Consultative Cardiology at Stanford, where he cares for patients with complex lymphatic and vascular disease and leads efforts to advance treatment options in areas long underserved by traditional cardiovascular care.
A pioneering leader in lymphatic medicine, Dr. Rockson has shaped the field through sustained scientific and clinical leadership—serving as Editor-in-Chief of Lymphatic Research and Biology and as Founding Chair of the Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN). He has also contributed to national research priorities as a long-standing member of the NIH’s Trans-NIH Angiogenesis Research Program (TARP) and the Trans-NIH Coordinating Committee for Lymphatic Research.
Dr. Rockson’s research spans the full arc from mechanism to clinical impact, including biomarker identification in lymphatic vascular disease, drug therapies aimed at reversing lymphatic dysfunction, and clinical outcomes trials for conditions such as post-mastectomy and other forms of lymphedema. His translational work includes issued U.S. patents addressing therapeutic strategies for lymphedema.
He received his MD from Duke University School of Medicine, completed residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital, and is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
